How do you make die-cuts?
Here at The Die Cut Shop we use a die-cut machine to cut shapes, designs and fonts out of paper. The machine we use is Vagabond machine which cuts shapes from steel-dies. Paper is placed between heavy plastic cutting pads, placed over (or under) a steel-die of a given shape, and then rolled through a machine which compresses everything together. The result is paper cut into the shape from the steel die. Typically, only one shape is cut at a time. So, if twelve die-cuts are needed, this process must be repeated twelve times. Some designs are very intricate and require extra time to complete.
What are die-cuts used for?
Die-cuts are used in a wide variety of crafts such as card-making, scrapbooking, mixed-media art and school projects. Many people use die cuts when they want to create something unique and handmade. We have helped people create wedding favors, invitations, birthday and greeting cards, Mardi Gras hats, Christmas cards and tags, party decorations, and more!
Are the sizes of the die-cuts adjustable?
No, our die-cuts are not adjustable. Because we use steel-dies in our cutting process, we are not able to make any modifications or adjustments. There are other types of die-cut machines on the market that are adjustable, but we prefer the style and designs that we are able to achieve with steel dies.
Can you make die-cuts in other colors or quantities?
Yes! We can certainly change the colors and quantities of our die-cuts. It would be impossible to list every conceivable quantity and color combination, so we try to keep it simple. Simplicity is why most die-cut selections are offered in white, black, or Kraft, and sometimes red or green cardstock. We also have chipboard, glitter cardstock and metallic cardstock, and a variety of colored cardstock in our studio.

Can you make custom items?
We can make all kinds of things with die-cuts. If you have a special request for a project that you are working on, send us a message on our Contact page, and we will see what we can do. We are a small shop and we will work with you to help make your party, meeting, ceremony, wedding, baby shower or project a success.
We are not able to alter the size or shape of our die-cuts, but everything else, including quantity and color, is customizable.
How much is shipping in the United States?
Flat-Rate Shipping for all orders within the United States is $3.25, regardless of the number of items in the order.
Can you ship to other countries?
Yes, we can ship to other countries outside of the United States. If your country is not offered as a Shipping Option, send us a message. Because shipping costs vary widely from country to country, we have the ability to add countries to our shipping options as the need arises.
